Place one cup of dried lentils onto a large baking sheet and go through them looking for any misshapen or tiny rocks that may have made it into the bunch. This is the hardest step in my recipe lol. Then go ahead and place the lentils into a strainer and give them a wash over the sink for about 15 seconds.
Fill up a pot with two cups of water then add whatever bouillion you’d like and your dried cleaned lentils into the pot.
Heat the pot until it boils it should only take a couple of minutes on medium high.
Then reduce to a simmer then cover…not with a towel but a proper lid guys come on I know your smarter than that lol.
After about 15 minutes of simmering and 2 minutes of forgetting about the pot of lentils I had cooking on the stove while doing some much needed laundry; add in your paste of the tomato inside that metal beast cylinder and mix it up a bit like a contracted painter at a haunted house splattering fake blood everywhere!
Take the pot off the heat while letting it sit for a couple of minutes covered before it’s ready to eat…or whatever else you do with lentils?…feed a bird, create a painting, a sculpture, take photographs(lol).
Here it is all done and hard as concrete! Nah just joking, but it WILL thicken up after it cools a bit but it makes the consistency so very very good I promise!
*I topped it off with a couple good looking bay leaves from my garden, this is totally unnecessary unless your a show off like myself.
