Instructions
Pre-heat oven In a bowl add flour, sugar, salt and mix together. *I added a little cayenne pepper, cumin, rosemary and chili powder.
Add one egg, milk, soft butter and stir.
Add wet ingredients to the dry and mix.
Form into a ball of dough. * I used a little flour to dust my hands before handling the dough.
Roll out the dough into however big you’d like keeping in mind you need to add your filling and still fold together.
I used bbq chicken, frozen corn and shredded cheese as my filling.
Place your dough on a greased baking sheet then add your filling and then fold the edges together and close your empanadas using a fork.
I baked my empanadas at 375 degrees for 25 mins. *Butter the top of the dough before placing them into the oven for a brown crust.
