[blue_heading]Ladies and Gentlemen the $1.61 mini pizza recipe[/blue_heading] Perfect to make when you have that pizza craving but don’t want all the unhealthy extra calories or maybe you just want to be a bit selfish, which I completely understand and harbor no ill will lol..
For my mini pizza recipe I used my oh so great tasting jazzy homemade pizza sauce from my freezer for my sauce and the rest is up to you.
Ingredients
- 1 whole wheat pita bread(or pizza dough) $0.60
- 1 Tbsp pizza sauce $0.08
- 2 Tbsp shredded cheese $0.18
- 2 oz sliced turkey breast $0.62
- 1 strip turkey bacon $0.11
- 1 Tbsp chopped onion(optional) $0.02
Servings: person
Instructions
- Pre-heat your oven to 375° and cut up your onion/meats while your waiting.
- Take your whole wheat pita bread or your pizza dough and slather it with your pizza sauce. Start with a little at first because you really won't need as much as you think; the same goes for your cheese a little goes a long way guys.
- Place whatever toppings you chose onto the sauce leaving the cheese to be placed on the very top.
- I know it's easy to get carried away with the best part the CHEESE, but you won't need very much once it has melted and sort of spreads out and remember this will save not only a few pennies but a few calories too!
- Okay now your ready to place your pizza into the oven baking at 375° for 10-12 minutes. *Tip-Go to your local Lowe's or Home Depot and buy an 12-18''unglazed marble tile for a couple bucks. This will give you that restaurant quality crust....at least as close as I can get at home.
- After a few minutes your awesome smelling mini personal pizza is done. Cut it up into pieces or do what I do and pretend it's one BIG slice!
- If you want try adding different things and experiment....pictured(salsa, lettuce, ground cumin, garlic powder)
