[blue_heading] Easy Peasy Oink Oink Pork Roast $5.53 for 32oz or 2lbs [/blue_heading]
So you guys are gonna have to forgive me this week because as I was making this meal I got busy with something else and didn’t get as many pictures as I normally would.
Regardless, this is a crock pot recipe so having an over abundance of weird angles catered toward food would probably just rub you guys the wrong way anyway; see what I did there?lol =D
If I could go back and give my younger self any worth while concrete advice…learning and gaining a respect for slow cooking would be on that list.
It’s not all sunshine and roses though; there is a dark side to slow cooking and especially with meat! If you want to and I mean REALLY want to go a step beyond enjoying a good dinner compared to a GREAT dinner that people will talk about for weeks, months or even years!
….GET YOUR DRY RUB TO A STATE OF PERFECTION!!!!…SERIOUSLY.
Now I can’t tell you what a great recipe for dry rub would be because my taste palette is different than your taste palette so it is something that yes, many people can enjoy your rub but no one will even come close to appreciating it quite like you will…trust me.
Just as in life I have learned to try something and fail and if you keep on failing try some more until you get it right.
Enjoy my friends! -Matt
- 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika $0.14
- 2 tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper $0.06
- 1-2 tbsp garlic powder $0.06
- 1-2 tbsp onion powder $0.05
- 1/2 tbsp Cayenne Pepper $0.08
- 2 tbsp Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce $0.18
- 1 tsp Chili Powder $0.07
- 1 tbsp salt $0.10
- 2 lbs Pork Roast/Shoulder $4.85
- Put your roast into your slow cooker/crock pot and lightly oil the meat followed by using your dry rub to cover all of the meat on all sides(important).
- After you have adding your dry rub and have your roast in the slow cooker; cover and set to low and let it cook for at least 8 hours. *Add any vegetables you'd like carrots, potatoes, celery, beans, etc...
- After about 8(or more) hours you can take your meat out and let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing it up so all of the delicious juices stay inside.
